Hello together,
we are testing SEP 12.1.5 for a possible use in production environment. Actually we're testing virus detection and notification with the EICAR test file. The management server is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard using the included database (not using SQL server).
When testing on a Windows server with the SEP client we get the mail notification about the infection and the infection is logged at the client and the management server.
But when testing on the SEP management server itself which has a SEP client installed too there is no mail notification and no logging neither on the SEP client nor on the SEP management. But the EICAR file is deleted on this server when trying to save the string in a TXT or EXE file.
Both systems are in the same group running the same policy set.
Why don't we get the notification when a virus is found on the management server itself?
