Hi all,
We installed a new media server and setup vmware backups and all works over LAN. I decided to test SAN based backups and did the following:
1.) Zone VMFS datastore to new media server. Ensured automounting is disabled. LUN shows up as online under disk management. (Windows 2008 R2).
2.) Changed the VMWARE policy to only use SAN as backup method. NBD works fine.
When I launch the job, a snapshot is created (as seen in vcenter) but, when the actual backp stream starts, I get this error:
Error opening the snapshot disks using given transport mode: Status 23.
SAN Policy is Online_All.
The new media server can access the ESX host with ping and telnet.
The ESX hos can see the media server.
Any thoughts?
Netbackup Master and media server levels: 7.6.0.3
Windows 2008 R2
UPDATE: SAN: XIV (XIV Host Attachment Kit has been installed on the media server)
I'm going to try this on our HP3par and see if I get the same results.
