I sometimes wonder how anyone at Symantec actually releases software that is so buggy. You could not have possibly done any QA testing whatsoever as bad as this is.
We upgraded to LUA 2.3.4 and now most of my distributions fail...constantly. We already had a couple issues with 2 DC's and the upgrade did not help. However now I am pretty much completely down as it made it much much worse.
Issues:
Something tells me you made it so anytime a download is running nothing will work. No distributions at all start.
Wipe is great...but after wiping it seems I cannot run a distribution. Not sure if this is a DB issue or not.
Several times it seems the entire system comes to a screeching halt...nothing will start correctly. No publish folders in the Temp\Publish folders. Then it starts working again.
I still don't know why I need to create a distribution and then a download. Seems repetitive. I did try to add two DC's to one download but that doubled the size and made it impossible to run along with other huge downloads. Thought about doubling up the DC connections but that may do the same thing.
I go to Activity and click on Details and if I sometimes get what I clicked on or some random Task that I didn't click on. What?
I have network spikes for no reason. Seems to be running at a nominal rate and then BAM we hit 100% utilization. If I didn't have QoS in my settings I would be taking down switches.
Closing the LUA console seems to fix things...WHY?
Can someone please explain to the devlopers at Symantec that things like this make me want to go to another vendor who may have less warts?
Upgrading SEP 4 times with 3 upgrades to LUA...I still can't get my environment stable. Please stop being the problem and become the solution. I spend more time protecting my company from Symantec then I do protecting my company from malware.
Why is there a note that you don't have an admin guide for 2.3.4 yet but 2.3.3 will be fine?
Rant over. Anyone with actual knowledge of LUA and the sickness it breeds please reply with some type of help. I can pull logs from everything but so far it seems useless as nothing can be recreated and nothing shows any type of blatant error...
It is extremely frustrating to go from at least a 90% working system to a 10% working system.
