SMSMSE Detecting incoming virus but only when outgoing

Hi All,

We have SBS 2008r2 with Exchange 2007 and running SMSME 7.5.3.100. We have noticed that we are getting may viruses coming in and SMSME is not detecting them as they come in.

The system is detecting them in the weekly scheduled scan and if we forward them on, but not detecting then incoming which is not good.

We have confirmed this with the test EICAR virus and the same happens. We have now enabled content filtering / Policy to stop  EXE etc and that works, however the whole reason for SMSME is to stop virus withing ZIP DOCX coming in.

Please help
