I am running my first backup after upgrading to R2.  I had a backup that I created less than a month ago of a lightly used internal drive of under 1TB to an external drive.

I opened SSR 2013 R2 and looked at the backup job to see if the number of updates were limited or whatever and that checkbox was NOT checked.  So in my mind, I expected a differential/incremental or whatever backup. (not a new image).

I know only about 5 files have been added to this drive. So when I re-ran this backup job, I really expected it to fly through the update.  But it is running and telling me it will take 12 hours to do the backup.  To me that sounds like it is creating an entirely new image?!

What setting in my backup job could have caused this?  Or is this going to happen with every backup that I started with a prior version of SSR when I update it with R2?

The only other time I had this happen is when I made a backup one December and I had the job set to make a new image "annually",,,,,to me that means every 12 months....but SSR just starts over every January. (a 12 month option would be nice....) Anyway, that is not the case here.

Thanks for any input.  Not much I can do about it now (if I cancel it I have no idea what state my backup will be in) but I do want to understand it for when I run other backup jobs that were setup under the prior SSR release.

I was going to use this image with the bootup drive to restore the image to a fresh drive.  Assuming this is an updated restore point, when I point the bootup disc to the restore point location, is it going to give me 2 dates to choose from?

FWIW R2 does at least startup more quickly and does not scan forever for network or other attached drives that are not there....

Hello all, Prior to upgrading to SEPM 12.1.5 one of my customer was running SPC in their envoirement that was managing 18 diffrent SEPM's in diffrent regions. Now when they upgraded SEPM's to 12.1.5 then after the upgrade the information from SEPM's are not being displayed in the SPC console and dashobards are not working.

I have already removed all the SEPM's from SPC and re-added them but the same problem persists. Is there any compatibility issue between SEPM 12.1.5 and SPC 3.0 Enterprise? would appreciste if any 1 can shed some light on it. Thanks

Even after changing the jobs - both full and incremantal jobs  to "unscheduled" job setup, it still shows up in the job monitor

How can i remove it from the job monitor without deleting the job?

2 sites, Site A and Site B. Mailboxes from Site B have been moved to Site A. Using Move Archive to move archives from Site B to Site A.

Some users whose archive has not been moved yet have a need to restore an item into the mailbox. They have been provided with the links to ArchiveExplorer and Search Vault, so they have some sort of access to the archive. WebAppUrl is configured, so existing (not yet converted) shortcuts are functional.

when a user searches for an old item using the http://oldsite/enterprisevault/search.asp link, they add the result to a basket, then try to restore. They enter the exchange server and mailboxname they currently have (the Site A one). Restoring however does not work. Checking the EV-server in Site B shows the following event:

User 'ME' attempted to restore an item into another user's mailbox.
This request failed because the target mailbox
'/o=Company/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=ME'
is not associated with a task. Check that this mailbox is provisioned.

Is it possible to restore items from the archive on site B, which does NOT have mailbox-archiving tasks anymore?

Régulièrement, lorsque je souhaite me connecter à la console de gestion (directement depuis le serveur) de Symantec Endpoint protection Manager, l'accès à la console n'aboutit pas après avoir saisi mes identifiants.

J'ai la fenêtre :

Cette opération peut prendre quelques secondes ...

Après plusieurs dizaines de minutes, j'obtiens un message impossible de contacter le serveur".

Lorsque j'essaye d'ouvrir la console Web, cela ne fonctionne pas non plus, j'obtiens "erreur de communication avec le serveur"

Je suis alors obligé d'arrêter le service de base de données puis celui du serveur symantec manager puis de les relancer.

SEPM est installé sur un Win2003 r2, il reste suffisamment d'espace disque. Le serveur répond normalement hormis ce problème.

A quoi cela peut-il être du selon vous ?

Actually the process we did for migration

1. Installed Oracle 11g and Vontu 11.5 on Linux system (Single tier), created 2 policies and 250 events.
2. Installed Oracle 11g and Vontu 11.5 on Windows system (Single tier), Now we need to take backup of those files and configurations
3. As mentioned in Vontu guide, i copied 14 files from opt/oracle/oraprotect/protect to c:\oracle\oraprotect\prtect folder, after that we faced certain issues
4. like, Vontu monitor controller, TNSListner services is stopping automatically, when we tried to open the webpage,
We are getting https 404 page error.

Could you please help me in resolving the issue?

Another question about the New Stream. I have 4 drives and a policy with 4 child streams. If I have 3 busy drives and 1 idle, can I start backing up one of the streams before the other 3 or all the streams of a policy need to start at the same time?
