Dear All,

Presently we are running BE 2012 with SP4 and I do have active maitenance contract with Symantec, I received email from Symantec few months back that BE 2014 is out and now its SP1 is also available.

I've downloaded the new version along with .slf license keys and willing to perform the upgrade but unable to get guidence of the process step by step because I don't want to be in situation stuck in middle during upgrade, its failing not done completely, it will be a problem then.

When having active contract can a suppor staff help directly for the upgradation process.

Waiting for valuable inputs on this.

Dear All,

SSR 2013, Win SBS 2011

I have SSR doing a backup of the partitions to S:\ (SATA)
I have SyncRDX.bat in command files which incrementally copies S:\ to D:\ (Removable RDX drives that are swapped at night)

However, when SSR does a _Full Backup_, there's a lot of data and the batch file takes longer than 9999 seconds, which is the most I can enter.
subsequently, SSR fails and deletes what it has already done on S:\ This failure is frequent.

I would like to allow it a lot more time. Is there a way to do this?

I need a solution

is the v-ray edition doesn't need an agent on the windows/linux vm like veambackup?  does it mean i can use ms vss shadow copy instead of backupexec vss and there will be big benefit on vpshere replication?  because if i use the agent of backup exec, meaning i can't use ms vss therefore doing replication on production time will give more utilization on the vm therefore some applications may get affected like exchange or sql.  and snap shot will be faster on ms vss?

Ever since I updated Backup Exec 2014 to SP1 using Liveupdate, my Hyper-V GRT backups fail and I cannot restore individual files. This makes filer server restores hard, and renders the software pretty useless.

I rang tech support and they tried to tell me that GRT doesnt work on GPT disks, unfortunately for me the representative is grossly misinformed.

He also tried to tell me that this doesnt work on drives over 2Tb, again, misinformed, as this issue is only applicable to VMWare.

Basically this person would not listen to me when I said its been working for months and the last successful GRT backup was around the 6/10/2014. He just kept telling me that GPT disks are not compatible with GRT, which is wrong and completely irrelevant.

Anyone else had a similar issue?

 

Error message: The job failed with the following error: Failed to mount one or more virtual disk images. Restores that use Granular Recovery Technology may not be available from this backup set.

I will renewing my maintenance contracts for BE2012, by following the instruction I'm trying to update the license.

I got license from distributor like this:

1. SYMC BACKUP EXEC 2014 AGENT FOR WINDOWS WIN PER SERVER RENEWAL ESSENTIAL 12 MONTHS EXPRESS BAND S
2. SYMC BACKUP EXEC 2014 SERVER WIN PER SERVER RENEWAL ESSENTIAL 12 MONTHS EXPRESS BAND S

After I trying to update the license, the expired of day is not change..

What should have to do, should I upgrade the SBE to 2014 before or any suggestion?

I should probably know this but what exactly needs to be backed up to do a complete restore to new hardware or VM?

If I select all C:(System) D:(data) E: (logs), System State and Information Store am I not backing up the information store twice (once as Information store and once as the native files?  Do I need to do that?

 

Once I run this 'total' job, the next time it does an incremental it fails stating the last job wasn't a full backup.  I noticed the 'total' backup does the information store first, then the hard drives, so is that the reason? If so is there a way to switch so the information store gets done last?

 

Using BE2014, Agent for Apps & Databases, running on Windows 2008R2 and Exchange 2010SP1

I need a solution

Our company is using ghost 8.2 to image new computers for deployment by local drive to local drive. Is there a way to use ghost 8.2 to image the computer over network? eg without removing the hard drive from the new computer. The objective is to run ghost 8.2 from our office in NA to re image a computer in our network environment over in asia.

We're debating the upgrade to 12.1.5 but in the meantime is it possible to get updates/rollups for 12.1.3? The SEP server does not have internet access so I would have to download and install the update manually.

I currenty administer Endpoint protection for a small company. I've encountered a difficulty in that some users are prohibited from using a 2nd monitor on their desktops because some PC's now only provide for such accessories via USB (such as HP 19-2114 All-in-One Desktop PC). There is not other means of connecting a secondary monitor.

One solution would be a built-in device check, prohibiting only those devices identified as storage devices. This would allow for legitimate usb uses.

Our library is down. So is there any option we can take backup on any client system.

Is there any license required for that. Could i go for basic disk statging but i believe it wont allow except master and media server to take backup?

Master server :Linux 7.6.0.2

Windows backup and recovery Host : 7.6.0.2

We are using SAN transport mode and backups taken to MSDP disk pool on recovery host.

Randmonly backups are failing for the VM clients with error 6 & 13 ,but the same is getting completed successfully in the retry attempt.

Enabled VXMS /bpbkar logs and we could see below errors as below which may be related to network issues.

I need a solution

Phyical computer backup EFI, OS and data partition using SSR2013 with SP2 (11.0.2.4983), it shows an error message during recover.

Recover computer is Win 2012 R2 Hyper-V, VM is Gen 2.

Hello All,

We have Master Server on Windows 8 R2 Version (7.5.0.7)

and client is on Windows 8 Version (7.5.0.7)

here We are facing 2 issues. 

1. As I click on Netbackup Ms SQL Client it takes 15-20 minets to reflect.

2. As I configure Backup and fire from Jawa console the Job keeps running for 30 min approx and then fails with error 2

can any one suggest Whats Wrong here..?

Hi

Ac customer archiving PST files, in the reports we see the following:

Items archived: 0 (of 53524)
 Items failed archiving: 0
 Items not eligible for archiving because of PST Migration Policy setting: 53524

 Items moved to mailbox: 53524 (of 53524)
 Shortcuts created: 0
 Other items moved to mailbox: 53524
 Items not eligible for moving: 0

But - when looking in the user outlook - we can see that the items were archived, as we see the folder created correctly and items have the stubs correctly as well.

 

Any known reasons for the report file to show this?
